My husband and I stayed at Congo Bongo for our tenth anniversary. There was no better way to celebrate. There were no distractions (OK, a few - howler monkeys, toucans, ant-eaters, sloths, crabs, lizards, hummingbirds, and huge butterflies) - all viewed from our porch.

Back home, I tell people it is like 5 star camping. A vacation at Congo Bong feels like camping, but you have several of the conveniences of a vacation condo at a resort (stove top, coffee pot, fridge, blender, fans, hot showers). I was concerned about the mosquitos before I arrived, but I think I got two bites the entire week. I get that in 5 minutes at home in the summer. The house was fantastic with attention to details.

The owners were fabulous - very helpful and friendly when needed, but invisible the rest of the time. The grounds were beautiful and every view from the house, actually every view on the property was gorgeous.
